Picture Perfect

This is the time of year in the kindergarten that children get their pictures taken for the family and school album. The task on the part of the adults in getting these children ready for a perfect shot is remarkable. The children’s task on the other hand of following a string of instructions to keep still, smile, cross legs, stand up, sit down, look up, look down, is even more remarkable. I wonder if they are able to remember the repertoire of movements they had to make when they finally get to look at the photos. And then years down the track when they are all grown up, what sort of memories would they have about picture taking? Well, I suppose there is a price to pay for looking good in photos.
