We all go through phases in our lives and so do the children. The next phase for the 6 year olds would be to go to primary school. This is a big leap for all of them. They go to a much bigger school. Getting from one part of the school to another can be rather daunting. They have 30 or more classmates in their class. They have to use money to get their food during recess. They stay in school for a much longer time. They have to carry a heavy bag to school each day. The adjustments can be overwhelming. But they will adjust and it will not take long for them to do so.
Primary school orientation is a big help. It would be wise for parents to take their K2 children to the respective orientation sessions as these could help start bridging the gap between kindergarten and primary school. So do not miss it.
