Unity in Diversity

We are very much encouraged in this pluralistic society to be united in the midst of diversity. Adults need to be coaxed, pushed and given incentives to work at it. But it is different with children. Children are naturals at making friends of different colours, language and culture. In fact, as long as that boy or girl is a human being, he or she is a friend.

There are Indians, Filipinos, Caucasian and Chinese in the kindergarten and they are all buddies to each other. Kindergarten is a place to nurture the virtue of accepting folks who are different from you.
