My Singapore

Faces of young Singaporeans who could barely spell "Singapore" except in the song were the main feature at our National Day celebration. They came in red and white, of course, in the early morning all ready to say their pledge in front of the national flag.

This year we included the sports element in our National Day party - in line with the YOG. The children did their Singapore workout indoors and then out they went to run one lap around the kindergarten premises. They came back indoors in time to sing "Happy Birthday Singapore!" in front of a cake with birthday greetings for our nation. A party is not a party if food is not in the programme. From then on it was eat, eat, eat and eat! There was an array of colourful and delicious finger food provided by generous parents.

At the end of it all what remains would be pictures of brown, yellow, white faces of multi racial Singaporeans having a great time together under one roof.
