Sweet and Savory

Food is a common sight in Singapore. Our children are exposed to all sorts of food. But do they know how to identify the different tastes? The very young children may not know what sour or salty tastes are unless they are told and given to taste them at the same time.

That was what happened to the 3-4 year olds. Their teachers prepared savory ham and cheese on toast and also sweet and sour varieties of fruits. They learned about seeds in the fruits. Which seeds could be eaten and which ones to be thrown out. It was a tasteful day for them.
